Crosslink Density & State of Cure

Solvent Swell Procedure (Flory Rehner Method) & DSC Cure State Analysis
  • This solvent swell test is used for comparing the crosslink density values of different samples rather than calculating the exact crosslink density of a sample.
  • Cure State Analysis by DSC can determine if a compound is under-cured, and if an uncured control sample is provided, the cure completion percentage of the material in question can be determined.
  • This is not intended to determine the amount of crosslinking a given compound has, it’s meant more for quality control of the same compound to ensure the same state of cure is reached on the finished products.
